Renowned Singer and Litterateur Yogesh Vaidhya Passes Away

Kathmandu: Renowned Nepali singer and litterateur, Yogesh Vaidhya, breathed his last at the age of 77. The veteran artist, known for his contribution to Nepali and Newari music, passed away at Kathmandu Valley Hospital at 12:30 am. Vaidhya had been battling diabetes for an extended period and recently underwent a kidney transplant.

Born in 2003 BS in Nardevi, Kathmandu, Yogesh Vaidhya was a prolific figure in the Nepali music scene. He had sung over 600 songs, including popular tracks like 'Sapana Bhulai Sara' and 'Kati Pyasi Chha Jindagi'. His significant contributions to music earned him recognition and numerous awards, including the first prize from the National Song Conference and the Chhinnalata Song Prize.

Despite health challenges, Vaidhya's passion for music and literature remained unwavering. His body will be kept at the Nepal Academy of Music and Drama in Naxal for people to pay their tributes, and the final rites are scheduled to take place at Pashupati Aryaghat on the same day. Yogesh Vaidhya is survived by his spouse, two daughters, and a son.
